Rev. Bill Groennert conducted Worship Sevices at the New Athens Home for the Aged on Wednesday afternoon. Steve Droege provided the music.
Steve and Gina Droege, Stanley and Ora Mae Droege and Ryan and Kayla Droege were among others attending a Diaper Party at the home of the Honoree, David and Tiffany Droege on Saturday afternoon. One of the highlights was a motorcycle made out of diapers, blankets and bibs made by Gina.
A fire destroyed a barn on the Bill and Karen Esmon property east of Venedy on Friday evening. Tractors, 4-wheelers, new lawnmower, boat etc. A large loss but thankfully no injuries. Items can be replaced.
Gina Droege, Ora Mae Droege, Susan and Kyrsten Wisneski and Serena and Brylee Wisneski were among family and friends at a baby shower honoring Tiffany Droege on Sunday. The event was held at the home of Tiffany’s sister, Wendy Shelton, in O’Fallon IL. A great time was had honoring Tiffany and welcoming Baby Droege who should make his appearance in May.

Some are residents attended the Washington County GOP Meet and Greet Thursday evening at Frederking’s Eagles Nest in Addieville.
The Egyptian Telephone Co-operative Association Annual Meeting will be Friday, April 6th at the American Legion in Steeleville. Registration and BBQ from 5 – 7. Business meeting is 7:15 pm.
Friends of Ginnie Klasing are planning a benefit on Saturday, April 7, at the Coulterville VFW. There will be a meat shoot, raffle, silent auction and dance. Music by Hotrod Johnny to raise money for Ginnie’s medical expenses. She was diagnosed with cancer in October of 2017.
Being a Willie Nelson fan, David Droege obtained 2 of the 2000 tickets sold to the Luck Reunion Music Festival at Willie Nelson’s home outside of Austin, TX. On Thursday, David flew into Austin and was picked up by his friend Matt Hodges of New Braunsfel, Texas, who attended the Festival with him. It was a long day, as Matt dropped David back at the airport early Friday morning so he could make it back to work on Friday! Well worth the loss of sleep.
The Washington County Clergy Lunch was held at The Blue Room on Wednesday noon.
Steve and Gina Droege attended a disappointing St. Louis Blues vs Colorado Avalanche Hockey game on Thursday evening at Scottrade Center. Blues losing 4 – 1.
