ACT/SAT Test Prep Workshops:
NCHS teachers will be hosting ACT/SAT Test Prep Workshops to assist students in preparing for these assessments.
Subject, dates, and times are listed below. Students are to sign up outside the main office if interested in attending.

Below is a partial list of available scholarships:
ENERGY BOOST UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP –
Available to high school seniors accepted into SIUC’s department of mechanical engineering and energy. See SIUC’s Energy Boost webpage. Deadline to apply is March 30, 2018.
SIU CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP (five $1,000 scholarships) –
Available to students who are members of or have legal guardians who are members of SIU Credit Union and are in good standing. This scholarship requires filling out an application, getting a letter of recommendation, and completing an essay of no more than one page. Those interested should visit the SIU Credit Union website. Applications must be mailed to SIU Credit Union by March 30, 2018.
LEE J. BROCKWAY SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000) –
This is a competitive, merit based scholarship open to states in the Midwest Great Lakes Region. Required materials for application will be a short essay, 3 letters of recommendation, high school transcript, and college acceptance letter or application if not yet accepted. ILLINOIS SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIPS (several $1,500) –
Applicants must be planning to major in an engineer related field. The engineering program that the student attends also must be in either Illinois or Missouri or be ABET-accredited. This scholarship requires an application, a short essay, 2 letters of recommendation, transcript, and SAT/ACT scores. For more information or to get a copy of the application, go to the guidance office. A copy of the application can also be found at the NSPE-IL website. Click on the St. Clair Chapter to download. Deadline for postmarked packages is March 30, 2018.
ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES/NATURAL SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ($1,000) –
Applicants must be planning to pursue a degree relating to the field of Environmental Studies/ Natural Resources. Applicants will also need a letter of recommendation and a will need to complete a 300-400 word essay. Deadline for this scholarship is March 31, 2018. WASHINGTON COUNTY FARM BUREAU FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP (Multiple scholarships available of approximately $1,000) –
Applicants must be a Washington County Farm Bureau member, have plans to obtain a degree in an agriculture related field, and must maintain a 2.0 GPA. Criteria for winning this award will be Character and Personality, Interest and Experience in agriculture, and Scholastic Achievement. To receive a copy of the scholarship application, visit the school guidance office or call the Farm Bureau office at 618-327-3081. Application must be submitted to the Washington County Farm Bureau office by March 31, 2018.
HENEGHAN & ASSOCIATES SCHOLARSHIP ($500) –
Applicants for this scholarship must be looking to pursue a degree in engineering or surveying related field. This award will be judged on basis including GPA, SAT/ACT scores, class rank, extracurricular activities, community involvement, and more. If interested in learning more about this award or filling out an application, get a copy in the guidance office. Deadline for applications to postmarked on March 31, 2018.
FREDRICK “HARRL” BEATTY ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP ($1,000) –
This scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female applicant. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA, have participated in at least one sport for one full year, and must be willing to take a minimum of 14 credit hours their first year in college. Applicants must also get 5 teacher evaluations completed and write a 500 word essay on future goals and ambitions. If interested in this scholarship, please visit the guidance office to pick up an application. Deadline for turning in this scholarship to the guidance office is March 31, 2018.
CHAMPION SCHOLARS SCHOLARSHIP ($2,000-$5,000) –
Applicants must be high school seniors who plan to attend a 2 or 4 year university in the fall. Applicants must also have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Deadline for this scholarship is April 1, 2018. To learn more, go to https://www.championenergyservices.com/ programs/scholarship/
LARRY PASZKIEWICZ MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP –
This scholarship requires letters of recommendation, a short essay, and filling out an application. Preference will be given to those students in an Agriculture field. If no students in this field apply, preference will then be given to Family and Consumer Science majors and then those in an Education major. Those interested in this scholarship should visit the guidance office to get an application. Deadline for turning this application back into the guidance office is April 1, 2018.
WASHINGTON LODGE #55 ANCIENT AND FREE ACCEPTED MASONS SCHOLARSHIP ($500) –
This scholarship will be awarded to a student from Nashville High School. Applicants must be ranked in the upper 1/4 of their graduating class. Other criteria that will be used will be financial need, character and life purpose, and citizenship. To get more information or to pick up a copy of the application, visit the guidance office. Deadline for this application is April 1, 2018.
JORDAN EMRICK SCHOLARSHIP ($500) –
Applicants must complete a minimum 500 word essay about patriotism. Essay must be in MLA format and must be grammatically and punctually correct. If interested, complete your essay and turn it into the guidance office. Deadline for this essay is April 2, 2018.
ACT Testing Dates:
The next ACT test with open registration is April 14. Additional ACT testing dates are June19 and July 14. Registration is typically due 5 weeks before the testing date. Students may register at www.ACTStudent.org. Our high school code is 143-110.

The next SAT test with open registration is May 5. Registration is due April 6. Additional SAT testing date is June 2. Registration is typically due 5 weeks before the testing date. Students may register at www.collegeboard.org. Our high school code is 143-110.
