Louis H. Niermann

Louis H. Niermann, Jr., 86, of Hoyleton, passed away at 11:05 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Washington County Hospital in Nashville.
He was born on September 9, 1931 the son of Louis and Irene Daum Niermann, Sr., in Irvington Township. He was the oldest of eight children. He married Verdell C. Bartling on December 9, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton and she passed away on February 19, 2017.
Besides his wife of 61 years, he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kenneth, and a sister, Betty.
Left to mourn his passing are two daughters, Natalie (Daryl) Brammeier of Oakdale and Jennifer Niermann of Hoyleton; and a granddaughter, Kourtney (Matt) Engele of Nashville.
Mr. Niermann was a 1949 graduate of Okawville High School and served in the United States Army Reserves. He was a civilian employee at Scott Air Force Base where he retired after 34 years as a vehicle maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton where he served as Elder and Financial Secretary. He was a former member of the Hoyleton Lions club. Louis loved to hobby farm and fix any and all type of vehicles. He also loved to take his girls shopping.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton, with Rev. Nathan Wollenberg officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by the Nashville American Legion Post #110.
Friends may call from 12 to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoyleton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran school or church.
