Mr. Philip F. Wilson of Nashville, departed this life at SSM Health Good Samaritan in Mt. Vernon, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 4 P.M. He had attained the age of 83 years, 8 months and 16 days.
Philip was born on July 18, 1934 in Toledo, the son of Franklin and Mildred (Jenkins) Wilson. He was united in marriage to Sandra Knutson on November 5, 1960 in Brookings, S.D., and she survives his passing.
Philip served with the United States Army and he worked for 30 years and retired as a lineman for AT&T. He was a member of the American Legion Post 110,the Gateway East Artist Guild and a past member of the Nashville Lions Club. Philip was an accomplished artist and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife Sandra Wilson of Nashville; three children, Janine Blais and husband Richard of Troy, Todd Wilson and wife Melody of Nashville, and Rachel Heffern and husband Jeffrey of Wentzville, Mo.; six grandchildren, Eric Blais, Dr. Joshua (Lindsay) Wilson, Andrew (Danelle) Wilson, Dr. Michael (Ashley) Wilson, Abigail (fiancé Travis) Heffern and Sabrina Heffern; five great grandchildren, Owen Whitworth, Riley and Emma Wilson, and Abram and Waylon Wilson; a sister, Emily Jobe of Toledo; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Sean Heffern.
Per the wishes of Philip and his family, cremation was performed and a Celebration of Life visitation will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 4 PM until 7 PM.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or the Salvation Army and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
