Richard “Dick” Lee Sronce

Richard “Dick” Lee Sronce, age 79, of Oakdale, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 3:55 a.m. in Friendship Manor, Nashville.
Dick was born on January 26, 1939 in DuQuoin, a son to George and Martha Adelaide (Davis) Sronce. On February 27, 1960, he married Nadene Pearl Wisely in the Oakdale United Presbyterian Church, Oakdale, and she preceded him in death on February 23, 2004.
Dick was a general production worker for General Motors for 33 years. He also ran Sronce Backhoe and Trenching service. He was a member of the Oakdale United Presbyterian Church, Oakdale, and United Auto Workers. He was on the Oakdale Eggstavaganza committee and helped with the Easter Eggstravaganza. Dick loved woodworking and doing crafts with his wife. He also enjoyed taking trips to craft shows with his family.
Survivors include three daughters, Terri (Marvin) Malick of Ashley, Sandy (Allen) Taft of Oakdale, and Leah (John) Laur of Oakdale; one son, Bradley Sronce; nine grandchildren, Jessi (Ryan) Brock, Stacey (Tim) Barnes, Steve (Bri) Malick, Zach (Denise) Taft, Laura (Jimmy) Leonard, Sydney (Chuck) Koepke, Colton King, Ian Laur, and Justice Owens; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley (Charlie) Dickerson of North Carolina, Dorothy (Ray) Jackson of Columbia, Mo., and Marilyn Kay Sronce of Pinckneyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nadene Sronce; one brother, Paul Sronce; two sisters, Peggy Sronce and Susie Quigley.
Funeral services will be held at Oakdale United Presbyterian Church, Oakdale, on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Reverend John Campbell officiating, Interment will be at Oakdale Cemetery, Oakdale.
Friends may call on Sunday at Pyatt Funeral Home, Oakdale, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at Oakdale United Presbyterian Church, Oakdale, on Monday from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the family of Richard Sronce or Friendship Manor, Nashville.
