Past District Governor Lydia Ellis traveled to Hoyleton for the installation of new Lion members Ann Schnitker and Marilyn Suedmeyer. Sponsoring Ann and Marilyn are Janis Niermann and Craig Suedmyer respectively. Ann and Marilyn proudly join the fellowship of the Lions and commit to making a difference in serving our community.
The Hoyleton Lions continue to rise to the mission statement to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding through Lions clubs.
At Zion United Church of Christ on Sunday, April 15th, the Lectionary theme is “Christ Among Us” and Scriptures sources are Acts 3:12-19; Psalm 4; 1 John 3:1-7; and Luke 24:36b-48. Priscilla Self will present a Mission Moment about her recent trip to Oakland, Ca. for the bi-annual meeting of the National UCC Conference Disaster Coordinators. They toured the fire damages and destruction in Sonoma County and the Sonoma Valley areas. Children’s Sunday Session begins at 9:00 am. and Worship at 10:00 am. ALL ARE WELCOME, no matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey!
The Queen of Hearts surfaced this past Sunday! The lucky number holder was not present; therefore, 1/2 of the monies was distributed. A new drawing now kick off and the Queen’s pot will begin with $3,208! You may purchase your tickets throughout this week at Kretzer’s.
To commemorate the 50th Annual Hoyleton Hofbraufest, a parade is slated to move through the Village on July 7 beginning at 4 p.m.
In speaking with Natalie Brinkmann, one of the committee members, entries are being solicited. Many of the local businesses are entering representation into the parade.
