Sue Wilke Mueller
Sue Wilke Mueller, 75, of Nashville, passed away at 5:26 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born on September 13, 1942 in Griffin, Ind., the daughter of Harold and Ruth Crawford DeTar. She married Norman Wilke on December 1, 1963 in Nashville and he passed away on January 29, 1999. She then married Bob Mueller on April 2, 2003 in Blytheville, Ark., and he survives in Nashville.
Also left to mourn her passing is a daughter, Norma (Tim) Ballard of Shiloh; a sister, Kay (Don) Conklin of Owensville, Ind.; three grandsons, Dustin (Lyndsay) Ballard of Collinsville, Ryan (Ashley) Ballard of Belleville and Sean (Lindsay Weigel) Ballard of St. Louis; seven great-grandchildren, Caden, Dylan, Nolan, Heidi, Carter, Lillian and Natalie; a sister-in-law, Marie Bennett of Nashville; many special nieces and nephews including, Marti (Mike) Busch of Columbus, Ohio, whom Sue helped to raise.
Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, George and David DeTar.
Sue was a retired dispatcher with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in the fellowship club and LWML which she served on the local and zone board. She was a member of the Washington County Home Extension and served as a Republican Election Judge. She and Norman served many years as foster parents. Sue loved to play bingo and enjoyed sewing and embroidery.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 19 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville with Reverends Aaron Kotila and James Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
