Nashville Police Department Warns Of Scams

The Nashville Police Department would like to remind citizens to be cautious of unsolicited phone calls.
We have received numerous complaints involving attempted scams.
One popular scam is the caller claiming to be a relative and that they have been arrested and need several hundred dollars for bond and to wire the money to the designated location.
Another popular scam is the caller is claiming to be with the IRS and trying to tell you that you need to wire them money to avoid having a warrant issued in your name.
If you receive a suspicious telephone call, please hang up and do not engage with them.
If you think that the call was real, contact a family member or the police department before sending any money.
