Charles “Pete” Ruffino

Pete Ruffino, 88, of Pinckneyville, died on Sunday, April 22, 2018 in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville.
Pete was born on October 20, 1929 near Pinckneyville. He was the son of Daniel and Elsie (Niederbrach) Ruffino. He married Betty Louise Loos on December 24, 1947 in Pinckneyville, who preceded him in death on February 5, 1994.
During his lifetime, he was a farmer, and laborer for Labor Local 548 and 459. He was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, a charter member of the Pinckneyville Moose Lodge and a current member of the Pinckneyville Eagles Lodge.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; four sisters; and grandsons, David Lester Porter, Jr. and Joshua Dale Ruffino.
Survivors include his children, Linda (David) Porter, Ed (Connie) Ruffino and Roger (Denise) Ruffino; grandchildren, Kara Jo (Jeff) Carson, Greg Porter, Erin (Brad) Petchulat, Evan (Jaimie) Ruffino, Amie (Bruce) Anderson, Jill (Mitch) Morson, and Staci (Aaron) Glaser; and great-grandchildren, Claire, Olivia, Griffin, Gemma, Lola, Joshua J., Kaci, Allison and Cameron.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Cindy Bean officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
Friends may call at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, on Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
Friends may make memorials to St. Paul United Church of Christ or Mueller Hill Cemetery, both in Pinckneyville, and will be accepted at the church.
