St. Ann Catholic School’s seventh grader Kaden Linkey recently won the Knights of Columbus State Free Throw Championship for Age 12 boys. Participating at Chatham High School in Chatham, Illinois, Linkey sank 23 of 25 free throws to claim the title.
His journey began competing at the local competition in Nashville at St. Ann back in January where he sank 12 of 15 free throws. Kaden then advanced to the Regional Competition which was held at Mater Dei in Breese. There, Linkey made 22 of 25 free throws to advance to finals. Kaden was the fifth of 11 shooters in his class that day and the pressure was already on when the second shooter drained 22 of 25. Linkey missed his fourth and ninth attempts, but finished making 16 straight to secure the title. Congratulations to Kaden on a job well done.
