Washington County Relay For Life 2018 Is May 11

Hope is more than just a sign – it’s what keeps everyone involved with Relay For Life going! This year’s event will be held at the park in Okawville on the evening of Friday, May 11.

Relay For Life 2018 Is Friday, At Okawville Park

On May 11, 2018, community members and cancer survivors will join together at the annual Relay For Life of Washington County at Okawville Community Club to help the American Cancer Society attack cancer from every angle. The evening will include kids activities, concessions, entertainment and family friendly fun.
The event will kick off at 5 PM with the Opening Ceremonies and Survivor Lap honoring cancer survivors. The night will be filled with local entertainment and talent starting with the Dixieland Parade Band, who will lead cancer survivors in their Survivor Lap. Following the Survivor Lap, the lineup includes Jaime’s Tumbling at 5:15 pm, the NCHS Jazz Choir, The Venedy Band at 6:30 pm and Jeff Rabenort and Kevin Stine at 7:15 pm.
The event is free and open to the public. It gives the community an opportunity to come out and fight cancer, walk laps, cheer on survivors, and remember those who have lost their lives to cancer at the Luminaria Ceremony at 8:30 pm. The evening will conclude with Closing Ceremonies at 10:30 pm.
Funds raised during the evening help the American Cancer Society attack cancer in dozens of ways, each of them critical to achieving a world without cancer – from developing breakthrough therapies to building supportive communities, from providing empowering resources to deploying activists to raise awareness.
Together, we can beat our biggest rival. Join or donate to the Relay For Life of Washington County. Visit RelayForLife.org/washingtoncountyIL for more information.
