Pop Palooza And Carnival To Be Held At Back Lawn Of High School On Saturday, May 19

Things will be popping this Saturday, May 19, when Nashville Community High School will host the first Pop Palooza and Carnival, on the back lawn of NCHS, from 3 to 7 p.m.
The beginnings of the idea for this event happened way back in August, when NCHS student musicians played an outdoor concert for the rest of the student body during the solar eclipse, giving the cosmic event a live soundtrack.
This event was planned by the students of the Pop Music class and Tri-M Music Honors Society, along with the NCHS Music Boosters, who also funded it. NCHS Music teacher Steve Browne said that the event itself will be entirely student-run.
Pop Palooza will have an admission price of $2 per car, or a donation of two canned goods.
Musical entertainment, provided by NCHS musicians, will be happening from 4 to 7 p.m.
Pop Palooza promises to have more than just music though – there will be lots of games and activities available, including bounces houses, face painting, dessert roulette, video games and even food trucks.
A wristband for the bounce houses costs $10, and for $5, a person can have unlimited access to the video game tent.
Proceeds from Pop Palooza will go towards funding the NCHS Band’s Performance at the Sugar Bowl at New Years.
