Hornettes Compete At State Track Meet

The Nashville Hornettes track team’s season came to a close as nine athletes competed at the IHSA Class 1A State Track Meet Prelims at Eastern Illinois University on May 17. The Hornettes advanced to the State Track Meet in the 4X800M Relay, the 4x400M Relay, the 100M Hurdles, the 300M Hurdles, the Shot Put, the Discus, the Long Jump, and the Triple Jump.
Jadah Heidel led the way as she qualified in three events,
Heidel qualified as part of the 4X400M Relay as well as in the 100M Hurdles and the 300M Hurdles.
Sydney Schnitker competed in the Long Jump and the Triple Jump.
Sabrina Kollbaum, and Kiley Heidel both competed as part of the 4X800M Relay and the 4X400M Relay.
Kylie Kozuszek, and Grace Maschhoff competed in the 4X800M Relay.
Delaney Varel competed in the 4X400M Relay.
Carli Hoffman competed in the Shot Put.
Josie Middleton competed in the Discus.
Schnitker began the day with the Long Jump where she jumped 15’4.75”.
Schnitker then competed in the Triple Jump where she finished with a jump of 33’8.5”.
Hoffman was in the first flight of the Shot Put, where she threw 32’3”.
In the Discus, Middleton finished with a throw of 96’8”.
The team of Kylie Kozuszek, Grace Maschhoff, Sabrina Kollbaum, and Kiley Heidel competed in the 4X800M Relay where they finished sixth in their heat with a time of 10:37.35.
In the 100M High Hurdles, Jadah Heidel finished fifth in her heat with a time of 16.88. Jadah Heidel would finish fifth in her heat of the 300M Hurdles with a time of 48.25.
In the 4X400M Relay, the team of Jadah Heidel, Kiley Heidel, Kollbaum, and Delaney Varel finished seventh in their heat with a time of 4:23.94.
The Hornettes did not have any athletes advance out of Prelims.
