A Very Dramatic Summer Camp

Second Year Of NCHS Drama Camp Has 68 Campers Put On Three Plays

Friday, June 1, the NCHS Auditorium was unseasonably packed, given that school isn’t in session – parents, friends and family came in to watch the culmination of the 2018 NCHS Summer Drama Camp, which included three plays, “Hansel and Gretel and the Creepy Woods”, “The Pirate and the Princess”, and “The Tale of Peter Rabbit”, as well as three dance numbers between the plays.

This is the second year for the drama camp, which is put on by the NCHS Drama Club, International Thespian Society (ITS) Troupe 4692, and NCHS Media Center Director and Drama Club Sponsor Leigh Ann Cloud.

Along with the numerous NCHS students who guided the younger campers, the three plays were directed by recent NCHS Graduates, with Jacob Wacker, Class of 2014, directing “Hansel and Gretel”, Josey Campbell, Class of 2017, directing “Pirate and Prince” and Hannah Meade, Class of 2018 Directing “Peter Rabbit”.

The parts in the performances were all played by the campers, and additionally, the stage crew was also made up of campers as well.
