Community Health Facilitators Needed
Oasis Health Workshops Coming To Washington County And Surrounding Area
Community health facilitators are needed to lead Take Charge of Your Health workshops that will be offered in Bond, Madison, St. Clair, Clinton, Washington, Monroe, and Randolph County in July and August 2018.
The Oasis workshops are designed to provide older adults with skills they need for self-management of chronic health conditions and diabetes.
“We’re looking for older adults who have an interest in health and wellness and who are comfortable speaking in front of small groups,” says Emir Kandzetovic, Oasis community health coordinator.
“These paid, part-time positions are a great opportunity to connect with the community, continue down your own path of wellness and help others.”
Take Charge of Your Health is for adults with chronic conditions. Studies show that participants experience greater energy, reduced fatigue, increased activity, better emotional health and enhanced partnership with healthcare teams after taking the class.
No health background is necessary, but training to lead Take Charge of Your Health workshops is required. The four-day training session is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, June 14-15 and June 21-22, at Freeburg Area Library, 407 S. Belleville St., Freeburg, IL 62243.
To learn more about this opportunity, contact Emir Kandzetovic at 314-862-2933, Ext. 246 or ekandzetovic@oasisnet.org.
