Girls Track All-South Announced

The Southern Illinois Coaches Association announced their Class 1A-2A All-South Girls Track Athletes. Three individuals, and one relay team were named from the Hornette track team. Three members of the Okawville Lady Rockets track team were named All-South.
The 4X800M Relay team was the lone relay team for Nashville that was named All-South. The team of Kylie Kozuszek, Kiley Heidel, Sabrina Kollbaum, and Grace Maschhoff. The Hornettes 4X800M Relay team advanced to the IHSA Class 1A State Track Meet at Eastern Illinois University.
Jadah Heidel was named All-South as a hurdler. Heidel broke the school record in the 100M Hurdles this season. Heidel also advanced to the IHSA Class 1A State Track Meet in the 100M Hurdles.
Sydney Schnitker was one of the jumpers named SICA Class 1A All-South. Schnitker broke her own record in the triple jump this season. Schnitker advanced to State in the Triple Jump and the Long Jump.
Josie Middleton advanced to state in the Discus this season, and was named SICA Class 1A All South. Middleton will attend Lindenwood University-Belleville to continue her track career.
From Okawville, Audrey Jansen was named All-South as a jumper. Jansen advanced to State in the High Jump.
Madelyn Tepe was named All-South as a Middle Distance runner. Tepe advanced to State in the 800M Run. Tepe finished sixth in the 800M Run.
Abby Riechmann was named All-South as a distance runner. Riechmann advanced to State in the 3200M Run. Riechmann finished 23 in the finals of the 3200M Run at the IHSA Class 1A State Track Meet.
The rest of the SICA Class 1A Girls All-South Track Athletes. Sprints: Madison Davis of DuQUoin, and Ashanti Tucker of Cairo. Hurdles: Lauren Friess of Johnston City, and Bailey Harsy of DuQuoin. Middle Distance: Gabby Alongi of DuQuoin. Distance: Andrea Lopez of DuQuoin. Jumps: Paige Tucker of Sesser-Valier, Dakota Korne of Pinckneyville, Jacklyn Simms of Fairfield, Elizabeth Bird of DuQuoin, Shianne Dejear of Christopher, and Abigail Myers of Chester. Throws: Breanna Bowers of Hamilton County, and Maggie Coloni of Johnston City. Relays: 4X100M Relay of DuQuoin and Pinckneyville; 4X200M Relay of Vienna; 4X400M Relay of Pinckneyville; and 4X800M Relay of DuQuoin.
The SICA Class 1A Coach of the Year is Shane Boyett of DuQuoin.
