Illinois Coaches Association All-State Softball Teams Released

The Illinois Coaches Association released the All-State Softball teams for Class 1A and Class 2A. One Hornette was named First-Team All-State. Two Hornettes were named Third-Team All-State.
Mackenzie McFeron was named First-Team All-State. McFeron played shortstop and batted leadoff for the Hornettes this season. McFeron played in all 33 games for Nashville. McFeron led the Hornettes in plate appearances, at bats, hits, singles, triples, runs, and stolen bases. McFeron batted .545 for Nashville.
Jordan Stiegman and Sophie Heck were named Third-Team All-State.
Stiegman started all 33 games for the Hornettes this season. Stiegman, the primary left fielder for Nashville, also saw time at first base this season. Stiegman led Nashville with 45 RBIs on the season. Overall Stiegman finished with a .405 average. Stiegman hit seven doubles, and crushed five home runs this season.
Heck played in 32 of the Hornettes 33 games this season. Heck missed the final game of the season due to injury. Heck was the primary center fielder, but also saw time behind the plate at catcher for the Hornettes. Heck led the Hornettes with 21 doubles on the season. Overall Heck finished with a team-high 26 extra base hits. Heck was second on the team with four triples. Heck finished with a .382 batting average.
