Rural Mount Vernon Man Dies In ATV Accident

At approximately 12:18 p.m., Saturday June 16, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a subject lying in a field near a wrecked ATV off N. Presley LN, west of Mt. Vernon.
Deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, members of Woodlawn Fire Department and Littons Ambulance service located an unresponsive male, later identified as, James W. McCoy, 39 years old, from rural Mt. Vernon.
McCoy was transported to Crossroads Hospital in Mt. Vernon where he was later pronounced deceased.
Investigation into the crash continues.
