Charles E. Huge

Mr. Charles “Charlie” Huge of rural Carlyle, departed this life in the St. Elizabeth Hospital in O’Fallon, on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 10:21 A.M. after a sudden illness. He had attained the age of 71 years, 5 months and 19 days.
Charles was born in Nashville, on January 5, 1947 the son of Wilford C. and Darlene M. (nee Kraft) Huge. He was united in marriage to Glenda Davidson on February 26, 1970 and she survives his passing.
Charles served with the United States Army from 1965 to 1968. He worked as a painter for the Local Union 85 for 35 years, until his retirement. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with family and he was never known to be without his yellow hat.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Glenda Huge of Carlyle; his mother, Darlene Huge of Nashville; a son, Charles Huge, Jr. and wife Renee of Odin; two daughters, Vickie Hall and husband William of Keyesport, and Bobbie Beimfohr and husband Phillip of Nashville; a brother, Ricky Huge and wife Laura of Carlyle; a sister, Donna Kretzer and husband Lester of Odin; eight grandchildren, Cody (Chelsea) Johnson, Kaden (friend Kendra) Hall, Erik Rhodes, Caitlyn, Cambrie and Dalton Huge and Phillip, Jr. and Joseph Beimfohr; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father; two brothers, Terry and Larry Huge; a sister, Patsy in infancy and a niece, Shonetta Kretzer.
In accordance with the wishes of Charles and his family, cremation was performed and a graveside service will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville, on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10 AM.
Those wishing to attend the service are asked to go directly to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
