Epplin To Start Seeing Patients At PCH

Epplin Will Begin Seeing Patients At PCH June 29

Pinckneyville Community Hospital is excited to announce that Andrea Epplin, FNP-BC, will begin seeing patients at the Family Medical Center on June 29.
Andrea is excited to be back in the area as she has a true passion for and appreciation for rural healthcare because “it gives you the ability to really get to know your patients and their families.”
As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Andrea offers a wide range of care that revolves around the family unit; from health promotion and disease prevention to direct care for all ages. “Women and pediatric/adolescent wellness and preventative care are my passions,” states Epplin. “I really enjoy family practice because you can go into a room and treat a five year old’s ear infection, help his sister with her asthma, and make sure mom and dad are up to date on their screenings so they can stay healthy enough to keep taking care of those wonderful kiddos for years to come! As the children get older and transition from ‘kid’ to young adult, I will provide a safe environment for them to ask questions and voice concerns to encourage an interest in their own health and wellness, which will hopefully help them throughout their adult lives.”

Andrea completed her Master of Science in Nursing at St. Louis University in 2012, and is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Andrea has over five years of advanced practice experience in family practice and urgent care settings, in addition to over 10 years of nursing experience in inpatient, school and community settings. Through her experience she has learned to recognize that there are often multiple factors contributing to chronic health issues. “I pride myself in treating the whole person and finding techniques to help alleviate, or at least help cope, with these factors often has a big impact on their overall health.”
Andrea is currently accepting new patients at the Family Medical Center at Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
