Hornettes Hand Out End Of The Season Awards

Kiley Heidel, Jadah Heidel, Sydney Schnitker, and Delaney Varel all received individual awards at the Hornettes track team awards ceremony.

The Nashville Hornettes girls track team handed out their end of the season awards this past week. The Hornettes had another successful season this past year, as they won the IHSA Class 1A Nashville Sectional, and advanced  to the IHSA Class 1A State Track Meet in eight different events, sending nine athletes to State.
Jadah Heidel received the Most Valuable Runner award. Heidel always found herself towards the top of the leaderboard this past season. Heidel advanced to state in three events. The 4X400M Relay, the 100M Hurdles,  and the 300M Hurdles.  Jadah Heidel was the SIRR Mississippi Division Conference Champion in the 300M Hurdles. During the season, Jadah Heidel broke the NCHS school record in the 100M Hurdles. Jadah Heidel first broke the record at the Mascoutah Invitational.
Sydney Schnitker received the Most Valuable Field Athlete award. Schnitker advanced to state in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump. After setting the school record in the triple jump during her freshman year, Schnitker continued to set the bar higher as the season went on. Schnitker was the SIRR Mississippi Division Conference Champion in the Triple Jump. Schnitker was also a part of the Hornettes 4X200M Relay team that were the SIRR Mississippi Division Champions along with Raqui Elliott, Kayla Ivey, and Destyn Hausner.
Kiley Heidel received the Most Valuable Rookie award. Kiley Heidel qualified for state in two events this season. Kiley Heidel was a part of the 4X400M Relay team that advanced to State.  Kiley Heidel was also a part of the 4X800M Relay team that advanced to State.
Delaney Varel received the Most Improved award. Varel was a member of the 4X400M Relay team that advanced to State. 
The athletes who were named All-South were also honored. Jadah Heidel was named All-South in Hurdles, Schnitker was named All-South in Jumps, Josie Middleton in Throws, and the 4X800M Relay team of Grace Maschhoff, Sabrina Kollbaum, Kiley Heidel, and Kylie Kozuszek.
