Georgia Ann Gundlach

Ms. Georgia “Peaches” Ann Gundlach of Centralia, departed this life at the SSM Good Samaritan Health Center in Mt. Vernon, on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 9:20 A.M. She was 63 years old.
Georgia was born in Staunton, on June 10, 1955 the daughter of George and Leona (nee Whipple) Gundlach.
In 2017, Georgia retired as the office manager at the Centralia Home Center. Prior to that, she worked over 20 years at Rockwell International which later became Cambridge and then Meridian in Centralia. Georgia was member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 233 and the VFW Post 2055 Auxiliary both in Centralia. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, fishing, gardening, traveling, and she especially loved spending time with her family.

Left to mourn her passing are her two children, April Kuhlman and husband Steve of Edwardsville; Michael Vaughn and wife Connie of Ferrin, and seven grandchildren, Annalise and Nadia Kuhlman of Edwardsville; Aislyn Vaughn of Chesterfield, Mo., and Kendra, Kiera, Keaston and Kinsley Vaughn of Ferrin; a brother, Billy Gundlach and wife Lynda of Richview; a sister, Connie Myers and husband Donn of Centralia; her boyfriend, Oscar “Butch” Carter of Centralia; an uncle, John Katava Jr. of Gillespie; an aunt, Juanita Owens of Centralia; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Mark Gundlach; a sister, Vickie Gundlach; and a great nephew, Jakob Barbee.
In accordance with the wishes of Georgia, cremation was performed. A service celebrating the life of Georgia Gundlach will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 1-4 pm at the VFW Post 2055 at 1826 S Pine St, Centralia, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Centralia Moose Children’s Activity Fund or to the Centralia VFW Auxiliary and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
