Nashville Jr. Golf Tournament
Young golfers from all over Southern Illinois converged on Nashville for the Nashville Jr. Golf Tournament on July 12 held at Nashville Municipal Golf Course. Eight different divisions golfed in the tournament, with the top two finishers in each division receiving medals.
Jacob Maschhoff of Nashville, was the top finisher in the Boys 16-18 year old division. Maschhoff finished with a score of 79, one stroke ahead of Grant Goebel, of Breese, who finished with an 80.
Carter Goebel, of Breese, finished with the top score among boys 14-15 years old in the tournament. Carter Goebel finished with a 74, five strokes ahead of Jarrett James, of Chester, who finished with a 79.
Boys 12-13 years of age played only nine holes. Jonah Tanner, of Coulterville, took home first place with a score of 51. Garrett Zurliene of Breese finished in second place with a score of 55.
In the Boys 10-11 division, Konner Kueper, of Carlyle, finished first with a score of 39. Owen Moss, of Breese, was second with a score of 44.
In the Girls 16-18 division, Megan Breslin took first place, with a score of 78, one stroke ahead of Sarah Breslin who shot a 79.
Kensie Anderson, of Salem, won the Girls 14-15 division with a score of 90. Chloe Kraus, of Okawville, shot a 91. Kraus tied with McKinnley Korte of Metropolis, but Kraus was awarded second place on a scorecard playoff.
Camryn Luthy won the Girls 10-11 division with a score of 67. Brynn Stiegman, of Nashville finished second with a score of 69.
The Boys and Girls 8-9 division, Bennett Moss won with a score of 24. Karlie Stein, of Nashville finished with a score of 35 in second place.
