Volunteers Need For Clean Up Day At Workshop

On September 8, Washington County Vocational Workshop is in need of volunteers to help clean out the big shed. Work will be happening from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Any individual or group is welcome to come and to share in the fun (if you like throwing things away!). If you only have an hour or two to pitch in and lend a hand, that is fine.

The new WCVW contract with Grupo Antolin came in Tuesday morning and clients spent some time on Thursday and Friday training so that they would be ready when it’s in.

The next big event for WCVW will be a shuffleboard fundraiser, sponsored by the Nashville American Legion and to be held on September 22, with doors opening at 6 p.m.

The cost for the fundraiser is $10 per person and is open to ages 14 and up. 80% of the money they collect will go towards supporting WCVW services and building maintenance.

There will be a raffle, attendance prizes and a 50/50 drawing. The Legion will also have a cash bar and snacks available for purchase.

The workshop clients are working on fleece tie blankets for the Fall Festival. Special orders are also being taken. Besides the Cardinals and Cubs, WCVW also does special orders for dogs, dinosaurs, fairies and more. Call Cindi at 327-4461 for more information.

Washington County Vocational Workshop is now on the web, thanks to executive director Cindi Cookson. Check it out, and like and share WCVW too!
