City Honors Jim Leonard

The Nashville City Council presented a special recognition award for chief operator Jim Leonard during its meeting on Thursday, October 18.

Leonard recently received a runner up distinction from the Illinois Potable Water Supply Operation Association (IPWSOA)’s distinction as Operator of the Year. He was named as one of nine outstanding professionals for their individual categories of service in producing and supplying drinking water for Illinois residents.

Leonard attended the 87th annual IPWSOA conference in Springfield. He said there are approximately 3,000 other water operators in the state.

Finalists are reviewed by other certified drinking water operators who serve on the nomination and final selection committee.

According to the IPWSOA, Leonard was recognized for “outstanding work in supplying safe drinking water on a daily basis to consumers as well as other contributions to the industry and the community.”
