It was a slow start for the Hornets as Nashville found themselves on the the wrong side of the scoreboard at the end of the first quarter.
Luke Ehret found the end zone early in the first on an 11 yard touchdown, but the Redbird came right back down the field, capping off a drive with a two yard run by Sam Cooksey. Extra points were the difference in the score at the end of the first, as West Frankfort led Nashville 7-6.
Big plays were the story for the Hornets in the second quarter. Daymeon Baugh found a seam through the defense for a 66 yard touchdown to give the Hornets the lead. Baugh would then find Jaxon Goforth for the two point conversion to give Nashville a 14-7 lead.
