James Champion

Mr. James H. Champion, of Nashville, IL, departed this life at Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville, IL on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 2:33 PM.  He had attained the age of 89 years, 2 months and 15 days.
Mr. Champion was born on September 13, 1929 at Cleveland, OH, the son of Roady and Viola (Cordrick) Champion.  He was united in marriage to Kathryn M. Edwards in Cleveland, OH and she preceded him in death.
James worked for Sears in the service and maintenance department.  He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in North Port, FL and he was a lifelong member of the Mason’s.  James loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Left to mourn his passing is his son Jack Champion of Salado, TX; daughter, Judy Groner and husband Steve of Nashville, IL; four grandchildren, Daniel and Katie Champion and Ken and Kathryn Groner; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers, Bob, George, Bill and Ray and a daughter-in-law, Tina Champion.
Per the wishes of James and his family, cremation was performed and a memorial service will be held at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville, IL on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 7 PM with Rev. Beverly Kahle officiating.  Interment of Ashes will be held at a later date in the Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, OH.
Friends may call at the St. Paul United Church of Christ Church in Nashville, IL on Thursday from 5:30 PM until the service hour.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ or the Murray Parents Association and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
