Mr. Ignatius “Ike” Damazyn of Posen, IL departed this life at his residence early Wednesday morning, December 19, 2018.  He had attained the age of 85 years, 6 months and 25 days.

Mr. Damazyn was born on May 24, 1933 at Washington County, IL the son of John and Celia (Piasecki) Damazyn.  He was united in marriage to Bernice Kellerman in December of 1985 and she preceded him in death in August of 2006.

Ike was a very hard working man throughout his entire life.  Ike was an Army Veteran and served in Korea from October 1953 to 1957.  He was a lifelong farmer and loved his farm and all the livestock.  Ike was a devoted Catholic and was a member of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen, IL.

Ike is survived by three nephews, five nieces and his special friend Betty Decker.  Ike had many friends and loved ones as was shown in his last few weeks of life, based on the number of visitors that came to see him. Everyone that knew and cared for Ike loved him very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother, Dave Damazyn and a sister, Delores Hardy

Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen, IL on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10 AM with Fr. Bernard Goedde officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Graveside rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 110.

Friends may call at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Posen on Friday from 4 PM until 7 PM and on Saturday from 8 AM until 10 AM.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the Washington County VFW and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
