Shirley M. Rojek, 80, of Tamaroa, passed away at 8:52 A.M., Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Shirley had been a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa. Shirley was an avid gardener and enjoyed sewing and reading.
She was born November 26, 1938 at Tamaroa, IL, the daughter of William S. and Violet (Manees) Weaver.
She married Roman Rojek on December 1, 1956 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa and he survives.
She is survived by her husband of Tamaroa, six children – Roman M. Rojek and wife Rita of Pinckneyville, William S. Rojek and wife Michelle of Du Quoin, Monica Nowakowski and husband Richard of Pinckneyville, Mark Rojek and wife Angela of Tamaroa, Charlene Sparks and husband Tony of Fairview Heights, IL, and Gregory Rojek and wife Elizabeth of DuBois, IL, one sister – Lurene Brashear of Johnston City, TN, thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son – Johnny Rojek, and two sisters – Betty Hilt Walden and Jane Holland.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tamaroa with Fr. Joseph Oganda officiating.
Friends may call from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Tamaroa.
Friends may make memorials to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or St. Bruno School and will be accepted at the funeral home.
