Stephen M. Moon, 61, passed away on December 15th, 2018 at Garden Villa Nursing Home in Bedford, Indiana after a year-long battle with medical complications from work-related injuries.
He was born on August 12, 1957 to Jacqueline and Clarence Moon in Indianapolis, IN. Stephen was an Eagle Scout with Boy Scouts of America, Troop 125, Indianapolis. He attended Scecina Memorial High School, graduating in 1975. In 2002, Stephen completed his apprenticeship and associates degree to become a union ironworker and proudly served with the Ironworkers Local Union 22 for 20 years. He was part of many projects including Eittlejorg Museum, St. Vincent’s Children’s Hospital and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and Prairie State Energy Campus Lively Grove, IL. Stephen was an avid fan of Little Hornet Football and treasured the years he spent and the friends he made in Washington County.
Stephen was survived by his mother, Jacqueline Moon of Indianapolis, his wife Jill Moon and son William Moon of Nashville, IL, his four daughters Karen Survant of Wilkinson, IN, Angela Kleptz of Bloomington, IN, Kristen Moon of Greenwood, IN, and Amy Moon of Indianapolis, IN, and ten grandchildren.
A casual ceremony was held on December 20th 2018 in Bloomington, IN.
