Dominic Bauza Jr.
Dominic Bauza Jr. departed this life peacefully surrounded by family at 7:47 PM Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Friendship Village Care Center in Sunset Hills, MO at the age of 90 years and 7 months.
Dominic was born June 7, 1928 in St. Louis, son of Dominic and Theresa (Novak) Bauza Sr. He married Annie Liszewski on May 2, 1953, his beloved wife of 65 years at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and she survives.
Dominic was a retired electrician with over 50 years in the IBEW union. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Nashville and St. Francis of Assisi in St. Louis. He served during the Korean War as a sergeant in the U. S. Army. He enjoyed the outdoors, driving his tractor, yard work, and gardening. He enjoyed polka music and dancing, time with his children, grandchildren and families.
He is also survived by four children: Sharon (Glen) Hogan, Janice (John) Oexeman, Diane (Dan) Perkins and Ronald (Betty) Bauza; Eight grandchildren Tyson Gajewski, Gregory Perjak, Laura O’Dell, Adam Perkins, Michael Oexeman, Andrea Williamson, Stephanie Oexeman, Lauren Oexeman and four great-children, Charlotte and Carter O’Dell and Rebekah and Sophia Williamson; his sister Eleanor (Gene) Bogucki, sister-in-laws Regina Matecki, Helen (Stanley) Lamczyk and Dorothy Malawy. He was preceded in death by his parents Dominic Sr and Theresa Bauza; father-in-law and mother-in-law Steve and Katie Liszewski; sister Dolores (Don) Chambers; granddaughter Ashlie Oexeman; brother-in-laws Eddie (Cecelia) Liszewski, Leo Matecki, Sylvester (Barbara) Liszewski, Alex (Louise) Liszewski and Alvin Malawy.
Mass of Christian burial will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Posen, IL at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 with Fr. Andy Knopik and Fr. Bernard Goedde officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 110.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. until 10 a.m.
The rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Masses or Memorials may be given to St. Ann Catholic School or Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Posen and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
