Letters: Suggestions To ‘Build That Wall’

Dear Readers,

We are at a point in this country where even a quiet news day is a crazy day.  One of the hottest topics is the discussion of illegal immigration and the pros and cons of a border wall construction.

Several reports indicate that the U.S. spent between$134-150 billion in health, education, and social benefits for illegals last year.  The number is expected to increase by $3-5 billion this year.  As I write this letter, more caravans are headed to the U.S. And several MS-13 gang members were removed from one caravan by Mexican Authorities.

Also this week, I saw a break down of our national debt which is at an all time high of $22 trillion.  According to the Tax Federation this amount breaks down to $67,000 for every man, woman and child U. S. citizen.  That also translates to $179,000 for every U.S. taxpayer.  I’m sure you don’t have to be a math genius to figure out that also translates to near $0 for every man, woman, and child in the U.S. illegally.  There are apparently exceptions as the woman in Missouri currently facing deportation has held a job and paid taxes.

Democrats say building a wall is immoral.  I say it is an immorality to the U.S. taxpayer not to build it.  I say cut the benefits to illegals and deport them.  Let Mexico support them.  If you have seen what has taken place in Tijuana and other cities that have housed immigrants heading to the U.S., Mexico is already paying for our wall that is not even built yet.

My suggestion is for the U.S. to enforce our laws and use the money saved to “Build That Wall.”
