Greg Hoskins, publisher of Better Newspapers Inc., is proud to welcome Tim Tucker as the new General Manager.  Tucker will be responsible for the Nashville and Mascoutah offices.

“Better Newspapers Inc. has grown to 20 newspapers in Illinois and Missouri,” stated Hoskins.  “With that growth comes a need to reorganize responsibilities.  Tim’s experience in the newspaper industry will allow me to spend more time as President of the company.  As General Manager, Tim will take a hands-on approach for the readers of our local publications.”

“I’m extremely happy to be part of the Nashville and Mascoutah teams,” said Tucker.  “Greg already has strong, experienced employees at these offices, and we hope to continue to build and expand on those strengths.”  The Nashville office publishes The Nashville News.  The Mascoutah office produces the Mascoutah Herald, Scott Flier, Fairview Heights Tribune, and Clinton County News.

Tucker is a 1973 graduate of Mascoutah High School.

He graduated from the Broadcast Center (a trade school in St. Louis) and became an announcer for radio stations in Sparta, Mt. Vernon, Benton and Harrisburg, Illinois.  He was promoted to General Manager at a variety of radio stations in southern Illinois.

From 1996 to 1998, he owned the WINU radio station in Highland. Tucker then sold the station, and transferred to radio advertising management and sales in St. Louis.

Over the last 18 years, Tucker was in Advertising Sales and Management for the Belleville News Democrat.  He currently lives in Belleville with his wife Elizabeth.

“Currently, my duties include managing the staff of both offices with the focus of increasing readership and results for the publications’ advertisers.”

Both Hoskins and Tucker agreed that future plans for the local newspapers are to continue delivering the best community news possible, and to give advertisers enhanced coverage to reach more potential customers by combining the publications that meet their needs.

The digital market involving newspapers and advertising is expanding at an exponential rate, and Better Newspapers can fulfill those digital needs for area businesses and organizations.
