Mr. Charles W. Kroener of Nashville, IL, departed this life at the Washington County Hospital in Nashville on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 9:12 PM. He had attained the age of 94 years, 6 months and 2 days.
Mr. Kroener was born on October 26, 1924 at Oakdale, IL the son of Albert and Margaret (nee Lehman) Kroener. He was united in marriage to Norma Linze on October 18, 1958 and she survives his passing.
Charles worked for the United Mine Workers as a coal miner for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Nashville Christian Church in Nashville, IL and the United Mine Workers Association. Charles enjoyed working on building projects and he loved hunting and fishing.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife Norma Kroener of Nashville, IL; four daughters, Karen Gogerty and husband Jim of Decatur, IL, Connie Emerson and husband Tim of Taylorville, IL, Debra Spenner and husband Mike of Nashville, IL and Rita Kroener of Okawville, IL and son, Shane Youngblood and wife Chelsea of Collinsville, IL; a sister, Esther Payne of Albian, IL; 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Linda Kroener and two sisters, Alice Eigenrauch and Arlene Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 10 AM with Rev. Les Boldt officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery in Oakdale, IL.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville on Wednesday from 5 PM until 7 PM and on Thursday from 7:30 AM until the service hour.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Nashville Christian Church and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
