Thomas J. Lane

Thomas J. Lane, age 71, of Nashville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in his home.

Tom was born on September 14, 1947 in Breese, IL, a son to Jack and Sally (Newkirk) Lane. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force having served with the military police and was a member of the European Military Championship Football team. Tom worked as a construction union laborer. Tom is of the Christian faith. He was a singer, songwriter, musician and entertainer who performed both gospel and comedy music. He was the founder and president of the Pilot Knob Outdoors Club.Survivors include his wife, Carol Lane of Nashville, IL; his daughter, Marguerite (Brian) Lutz-Hobbs of Coulterville, IL; his granddaughter, Isabelle Hobbs of Coulterville, IL; a brother, Jack (Janet) Lane of Nashville, IL; a nephew, Jon (Jami) Lane of Nashville, IL; two nieces, Kristy (Jason) Brink of Nashville, IL and Kara (Dan) Paszkiewicz of Nashville, IL; great-nieces; great-nephews; great-great-nieces; and other loved ones and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Diane in infancy; a niece and nephew-in-law, Kimberly and Marty Gutzler; and two great-nieces, Piper Gutzler and Sierra Wilder.

Private services were held for family and loved ones.

He was dearly loved and deeply missed.

Memorial donations may be made to the Washington County Animal Shelter.

Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL was entrusted with arrangements.

    I was very saddened when I heard of the passing of our dear friend , “Tom” my sincerest sympathies to Carol and family !!! I most certainly will miss him !! God Bless !

    A great classmate who was always an independent thinker with a world of talent. Sorry that I didn’t have a chance to spend some time with him in our older years.
