George M. Przygoda

George M. Przygoda, 70, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Pinckneyville Community Hospital.

George had worked in mine construction.  He also had been a welder and fabricator.  George had most recently been assistant superintendent at the Nashville Golf Course.  He was a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill.  George was a United States Army veteran.  He loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.  He enjoyed refurbishing used parts, was a junk artist, and made lawn furniture from implement parts.  George loved his family, especially his grandkids.

He was born April 29, 1949 at Pinckneyville, IL, the son of Ralph A. and Regina (Jozwiak) Przygoda.

He married Judith E. Hagene on August 19, 1972 at the St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinckneyville and she survives.

He is survived by his wife of Pinckneyville, four children – Michael Przygoda and wife Angela of Pinckneyville, Amanda White and husband John of Du Quoin, Christopher Przygoda of Pinckneyville, and Elizabeth Kremer and husband Matthew of Du Quoin, three sisters – Rosemary Jåones of Pinckneyville, Jeanette Pedtke of DuBois, and Marie Williams and husband Murray of Louisville, KY, seven brothers – Raymond Przygoda and wife Carol of Pinckneyville, Ronald Przygoda and wife Margaret of Tamaroa, Joseph Przygoda and wife Beverly of Mt. Vernon, Donald Przygoda and wife Megan of Charleston, IL, Ralph Przygoda and wife Margaret of Tamaroa, James Przygoda of Pinckneyville, and Stanley Przygoda and wife Laura of Royalton, seven grandchildren – Cruze Przygoda, Jace Przygoda, Alyssa White, Kinley White, Calvin White, Carrigan Kremer, and Easton Kremer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son – Matthew Przygoda, one sister-in-law – Patricia Przygoda, and one brother-in-law – Eugene Pedtke.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 6, 2019 at the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill with Fr. Nick Junker officiating.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M., Friday at the St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at Todds Mill.

Burial will be in the St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery at Todds Mill.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Du Quoin V.F.W. and American Legion and the Army National Guard.

Friends may make memorials to an education fund for his grandchildren with donations made payable to Judith Przygoda and will be accepted at the funeral home.
