NCHS Votes To Replace Computer Lab Chairs

By Leah Williams

The Nashville Community High School Board purchased computer chairs for the district’s two computer labs on Tuesday, July 16, during its regular board meeting.

The board approved the acquirement of 50 chairs, purchased at approximately $122 each, a cost that comes to about $6,100. The seating is to be purchased through Amazon.

The chairs from the computer lab will be distributed and repurposed on other areas on the NCHS campus.

In other school board news, Superintendent Brad Turner provided an update on the roof work that had been conducted over the summer months. Much of the roof has been completed, he said, and employees from the HVAC company are presently working to put the gas line back in. Turner expects the work to be completed by August.

The board approved the athletic admission prices for the 2019-2020 year.

The board held a first reading on a policy that would dictate the amount of public participation permitted during meetings. Turner said the board will make a decision on how much time audience members will be allowed to speak on a particular topic when a second reading is held next month.

“It does talk in there the amount of time during each regular and special opening meeting for public comment,” Turner said. “There has to be a minimum amount of time that we will spend.”

Haeli Williamson has been selected as the new assistant music director. Also approved was the list of coaches for the fall 2019 year.

Those coaches included for football — head coach Stephen Kozuszek; varsity assistant coach Anthony Thoel; sophomore coaches Chris Goforth and Craig Dalman; freshman coaches Jason Alli and Chad Malawy; and volunteer coaches Dan Wolf, Mike Borowiak, Ethan Reid and Nick Wolf.

Volleyball coaches are Josh Konkel for head coach; Nick Ramsey for junior varsity; freshman coach Lori Schnitker and volunteer coach Dale Flick.

In golf, Jason Guest will serve as head coach for the boys with volunteer coach Erik Rolf. The girls’ team will be lead by head coach Doug Kell.

Cross Country head coach is Jenny Olson with Jean Orr, Wendy Bergmann and Jordan Love as volunteers.

Cheerleading coaches are Morgan Fox and Kaillie Maschhoff.
