Joan C. Giger

Mrs. Joan C. Giger of Nashville, IL, departed this life at Trenton Village in Trenton on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at 1:10 AM.  She had attained the age of 76 years, 3 months and 13 days.

Mrs. Giger was born on April 29, 1943 at Highland, IL, the daughter of Adolph and Agnes (Turek) Bielong.        She was united in marriage to Lawrence Giger on November 10, 1962 at St. Jacob, IL and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2007.

Joan worked as a sales associate for the Hallmark store for over 15 years.  She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL, Friends of the Nashville Library and the Hallmark Ornament club.  Joan loved collecting different items, shopping, reading and walking.

Left to mourn her passing is her son Michael Giger and wife Sandra of Savoy, IL; two daughters, Karen Perjak and husband Leroy of Richview, IL and Tara Wesselmann and husband Kevin of Trenton, IL; five grandchildren, Jenna and Marissa Perjak, Daniel Giger and Melanie and Anna Wesselmann; two sisters, Shirley Hileman of Farmington, AR and Jean Klasner and husband Bill of Florissant, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Jerry Bielong.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 10 AM with Fr. Andy Knopik officiating.  Interment will follow in the St. Ann Old Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Friday from 5 PM until 8 PM and on Saturday from 8 AM until 9:30 AM.

Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
