Bertram Leroy Dueker, 94 of Nashville, entered rest at 11:07 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Friendship Manor Health Center in Nashville.
He was born on April 4, 1925 in Washington County, the son of Arthur and Louise Garnholz Dueker. He was married Doris A. Bedel on July 18, 1948 at North Prairie Methodist church by Rev. Jerry Weiss and she preceded him in death on March 24, 2001. Also preceding him in death were his parents, a sister; Mary Louis Haege and a brother; Warren Dueker.
Left to mourn his passing is a son; Douglas (Arlene) Dueker of Ooltewah, TN. A daughter; Barbara Yost and friend Ronald Moore of Nashville. 4 grandsons; Ryan (Lindsay) Reel of St. Louis, MO, Sean (Christie) Reel of Montgomery, ,TX, Chad (Jennifer) Dueker of Chattanooga,TN and Todd (Catie) Dueker of Ooltewah, TN. 8 great grandchildren; Isabella Scheibel, Keegan and Gavin Reel, Emersyn, Everlee, Ethan, Peyton and Crawford Dueker. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bert was a veteran of World War II serving in the Merchant Marines. He was a life member of the Nashville VFW Post #4082, and Nashville American Legion Post #110. He was member of Washington Lodge #55 AF&AM for over 50 years, Scottish Rite and Shriners. He was a lifetime member of Carpenters Local 480 and belonged to the Washington County Historical Society. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Nashville where he served on the trustees and building committee.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. William Bunnage officiating. Burial will follow in North Prairie Methodist cemetery near Hoyleton. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. There will be a Masonic Rites service at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home by Washington Lodge #55.
