Bernice E. Wetzel, 90 of Nashville, passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019 at Friendship Manor Health Center in Nashville.
She was born on August 25, 1929 in Plum Hill, the daughter of Fred and Olinda Reichmann Moeller. She married Cecil “Tony” Wetzel on January 8, 1950 in Nashville and he passed away on February 15, 2008.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, a daughter; Linda Wetzel, a great grandson; Dallas, a brother; Arnold Moeller and 2 sisters; Mildred Hale and LaVerna Finke.
Left to mourn her passing is a son; Robert (Mary) Wetzel of Nashville. 2 daughters; Sandra Lunnemann of Nashville and Karen Wetzel of Nashville. 5 grandchildren; Sheri Lunnemann, Brandon Lunnemann and special friend Michelle, Tony Wetzel and special friend Tiffany, Amy (Joe) Pinski and Amanda Lunnemann. 6 great grandchildren; Brendan and Tyrik Hopkins, Ethan and Bennett Pinski, Ryder Lunnemann and Anthony Wetzel. 3 great great grandchildren; Malachi, Carter and Skyler.
Bernice was confirmed at St. John United Church of Christ in Plum Hill and was a longtime member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Nashville. She retired as the secretary/book keeper at her husband’s oil business.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville with Rev. Beverly Kahle officiating. Immediate family burial will follow in the St. Paul United Church of Christ Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ or Washington County Partners for Pets.
