Mrs. Rosemary Guinzy of Ashley, IL departed this life at her residence in Ashley surrounded by her family, on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11:50 P.M. She had attained the age of 96 years, and 26 days.
Rosemary was born on August 12, 1923 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of John and Josephine Sczuka. She was united in marriage to Victor Guinzy on June 12, 1948 in the St. Casmir Catholic Church in St. Louis, and he preceded her in death on April 4, 2006.
Mrs. Guinzy was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church of Radom, IL and a former member of the Altar Sodality. She loved dancing and enjoyed bowling and gambling. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Left to mourn her passing is her seven children, Diane Lamar of Ashley, Mary Ann Whittaker of Crestview, Fl., Edward Guinzy and wife Pat of Ashley, Charlotte Guinzy-Dancy of Pinckneyville, IL, Ted Guinzy and wife Teresa of Dubois, IL, Tony Guinzy and wife Diane of Hoyleton, IL, and Kathy Muenter and husband Jim of Centralia, IL; 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relation and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Chester Sczuka; a great great granddaughter, Ryleigh Lamar; and three sons-in-law, Jim Whittaker, Jim Lamar and Andre Dancy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Oliver Nwachukwu officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the service hour.
Should friends desire mass offerings or memorial contributions may be made to the St. Michael Cemetery and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
