Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Circle K In Okawville
Local authorities are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Circle K in Okawville on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, in which two suspects took an undetermined amount of cash.
According to Okawville Police Chief Stephen D. Millikin, the suspects entered into the gas station at approximately 1:57 a.m. and took an undetermined amount of cash. They then fled the scene on foot.
The scene was processed by the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services, and Millikin said an investigation by the Okawville Police and other law enforcement agencies is ongoing. Both the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Nashville Police Department assisted with the investigations.

A couple of other convenience store robberies were also reported throughout south central Illinois this past week. The Mascoutah Police Department responded on Sunday, September 22, to a report of a stolen car at Casey’s. The pizza delivery driver had reportedly left the keys to his Toyota Corolla inside the vehicle while he went to pick up the pizza. The car was then stolen by unknown persons.
On Monday, Sept. 23, Breese Police Department responded to an armed robbery at Moto Mart. Two suspects – one wearing a clown mask and one wearing a dark hoodie carrying a backpack – displayed a semi-automatic pistol at the clerk. One suspect reportedly went behind the counter and stuffed the money from the cash register into the backpack.
