DuBois Woman Dies In Two-Vehicle Accident in Will County
A DuBois woman has died from injuries sustained in a two vehicle accident in Manhattan, IL, in Will County, according to reports.
Laura Mae Schmersahl, 55, was pronounced dead on Monday at an area hospital .
According to police, Schmersahl was driving a Toyota on West Offner Road approaching the stop sign at Route 52 at 9:56 a.m. on Monday. The Toyota turned into the path of a northbound Ford and was struck in the intersection.
Both Schmersahl and the driver of the Ford – a 55-year-old man from Manterno – were taken to Silver Cross Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Illinois State Police are continuing their investigation.
