Welcome To The Jungle – It’s Homecoming Week!

This week is Homecoming Week for Nashville Community High School and all NCHS Alumni.  The theme for this year is “Welcome to the Jungle.” The students have been celebrating by dressing up in unique ways this week. Monday was “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” Day, where students wore pajamas to school.  On “Tourist Tuesday,” students dressed to go on a jungle safari. For “Wild Wednesday,” students are wearing animal print.  Thursday is Color Day: seniors wear black, juniors wear blue, sophomores wear red, freshmen wear white, and faculty and staff wear gray. Friday, as always, is Spirit Day.

The students have voted for the homecoming attendants and the homecoming queen.  The freshman attendant is Jada Winka, the sophomore attendant is Hanna Niedbalski, and the junior attendant is Macee Hoover. The Homecoming Queen candidates are Raqui Elliott, Ana Hamilton, Sabrina Kollbaum, Elise Spencer, and Sarah Staley. The traditional NCHS Homecoming Queen Coronation will take place during halftime of Friday’s football game against the Pinckneyville Panthers.  Also on Friday is the NCHS Homecoming Parade, which will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Concluding the week’s activities is a semi-formal dance, which will be held on Saturday night from 8-11 p.m. in the high school’s north gymnasium.  All community members are encouraged to support the Nashville Hornets and enjoy the homecoming festivities.
