Charles F. Barciszewski

Mr. Charles F. Barciszewski of Mt. Vernon, IL departed this life at the White Oak Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon on Friday, November 1, 2019 at 3 AM.  He had attained the age of 85 years, 6 months and 7 days.

Charles was born on April 24, 1934 at DuBois, IL the son of the late Steve and Cecilia (Pelka) Barciszewski.  He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Genevieve Czerniejewski on July 22, 1967 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in DuBois, IL and she survives his passing.

Charles proudly served his country in the Unites States Army and was stationed abroad in Korea during the Korean Conflict.  He was a retired farmer and he will be sadly missed by all who knew him and his dog daisy.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife of 52 years, Genevieve Barciszewski of Mt. Vernon, IL; two sons, Brian Barciszewski and wife Sandra of Mt. Vernon and Brent Barciszewski and wife Jennifer of Mt. Vernon; four grandsons, Tyler Barciszewski and wife Kaitlyn of Tennessee, Jason, Trevor and Trey Barciszewski all of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Sylvester Barciszewski of Ashley; a brother-in-law, Frank Fegiel of St. Louis, MO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Gertrude Baker and Dorothy Fegiel; and a sister-in-law, Rita Barciszewski.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon, IL on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 10 AM with the Reverend Father John Iffert officiating.  Interment will follow in the Wolf Prairie Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, IL

Following the burial, a gathering of family and friends with a luncheon will follow in the Fellowship Room at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

In accordance with Charles wishes, there will be no public visitation.

In lieu of flowers, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the St. Mary Catholic Church, Wolf Prairie Cemetery or to a charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
