Playoff Preview: Nashville at Bismarck Henning
Next Saturday the Hornets will travel a little over three hours north for a showdown with the Bismarck-Henning Blue Devils. Bismarck-Henning and Nashville have matching 9-1 record on the season. A 33-28 loss to Chicago Hope Academy is the Blue Devils only loss on the season. Nashville is coming off their 35-0 win against Villa Grove, while the Blue Devils took care of business, 41-22, against Elderado. Bismarck-Henning is the northern most team in the southern bracket and play in the Vermilion Valley Conference, one which they swept this season. Like Nashville, Bismarck-Henning is no stranger to the post season.
“They’re a traditional power, they make the playoffs every year, and they’re usually making a pretty deep run,” Coach Kozuszek said.
For Nashville, Head Coach Stephen Kozuzsek is looking forward to another strong defensive effort and for the Hornet offense to clean things up after a heavily penalized game against Villa Grove.
“I don’t know if we had a drive where we didn’t have a penalty. We did enough to overcome it and win the game, but there was never a point in the game where I thought we started playing a clean game,” Kozuszek said.
The game will take place Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bismarck Henning Rossville High School.
