Nashville Firefighters Association Raises Quarter Million Dollars

The Nashville Fire Protection District surpassed a milestone in its fundraising efforts with its recent fundraisers.
The $20,000 check presented Thursday evening from the annual golf scramble and barbecue chicken dinner came to a grand total of $254,000 that have been raised over the past 15 years. The money raised helps the district purchase gear, supplies and other equipment that assists them while they are on fire calls.
Chris Frerker, president of the Nashville Firefighters As sociation, said the organization is thankful for the support that the public and the businesses have shown over the years.
“We have a great community that makes this possible,” Frerker said. “We are grateful and thankful.”
The annual fundraisers for the Nashville Fire Protection District include the two-day golf scramble in August and the chicken dinner during the first week of each September..
