Guest To Appear At Book Signing At Lee’s This Weekend
Author Gary Guest will have a book signing at Lee’s in downtown Nashville this Saturday, December 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Guest will be offering books for sale, including the best selling “Fertilizer For The Funnybone” and his new release “Brooklyn’s Bridge.”
The new book tells the story about German immigrants Henry and Ella Borgman arriving in New York and their dreams of a better life in America. Their son Brooks was born on their route home across the Brooklyn Bridge.
Brooks grows up around airplanes, hanging around the hangar with his father the mechanic. Brooks is drafted into the army shortly before his 19th birthday and serves in World War II.
Guest said his new book is based on historical fiction, where a creative story is based around events that actually happened.
“I think it is a feel good story. It wraps you up. You get absorbed in the storyline,” he said.
Guest said he had wanted to write “Brookyn’s Bridge” for several years before he was able to see it in print.
“I have this story in my head for 20 years,” Guest said “I’ve always wanted to write it, and I finally got around to putting it on a paper.”
Guest will also soon release the sequel to his popular humor collection. “Fertilizer For The Funny Bone Volume Two” will drop in early 2020.
Guest said the new “Fertilizer” book is available for preorder on Amazon. He says many of the stories collected for this edition are written more of an essay form instead of the column-like format that had been used in the first volume.
“I think there are a lot of stories in there that people will get a kick out of,” he said.
Guests says he welcomes everyone to come by and see him at the upcoming signing.
