Darlene M. Huge
Mrs. Darlene M. Huge joined her dear ones in heaven while her family was by her side at the Salem Township Hospital in Salem, IL on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 5:42 AM. She had attained the age of 89 years, 11 months and a day.
Darlene was born on February 4, 1930 in Nashville, IL the daughter of Otto and Eva (Brown) Kraft. She was united in marriage to Wilford Huge on January 4, 1947 in Nashville, IL and he preceded her in death on November 13, 1996.
Darlene worked several different jobs all her life, the last being at Friendship Manor for 20 years until her retirement. After retirement, she enjoyed taking short trips with family and having family get togethers. She also enjoyed giving her family advice and speaking her mind, which will always be remembered as one of her greatest assets.
Left to mourn her passing is her daughter, Donna Kretzer and husband Lester of Odin, IL; her son Rick Huge and his wife Laura of Carlyle, IL; daughter-in-law, Glenda Huge of Carlyle, IL; 10 grandchildren, Charles (Renee) Huge, Jr., Vickie Hall, Bobbie (Phillip) Beimfohr, Leslie (Cory) Tolka, L.D. (Tina) Kretzer, Todd (Susan) Huge, Nathan (Crys) Huge, Candie (Mike Brown) Huge, Ethan (Molly Althoff) Huge and Ricky Joel Huge; 17 great grandchildren; 8 great great-grandchildren; sister, Doris McConnell; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons, Charles Huge, Larry Huge and Terry Huge; infant daughter, Patsy; infant granddaughter, Shonetta Kretzer; four sisters, Bessie Noble, Hazel Fey, Vera Stalcup and Virginia McDowell; three brothers, Lloyd Kraft, Floyd Kraft and Paul Brown.
Funeral services will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 2 PM. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Nashville, IL.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Thursday from 12 PM until the service hour.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Greenwood Cemetery and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
