Mrs. Lillian M. Janssen, of Nashville, IL, departed this life at the Washington County Hospital Extended Care in Nashville, IL on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 9:53 AM. She had attained the age of 89 years, 3 months and 6 days.
Mrs. Janssen was born on November 16, 1930 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Valentine and Carrie (Piechota) Ruchaj. She was united in marriage to Thomas K. Janssen on August 9, 1952 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2008.
Lillian served with the United States Navy. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL. Lillian enjoyed flowers and knitting and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Left to mourn her passing is her two daughters, Michelle Brost and husband Michael of Arlington Heights, and Barbara Harre and her husband Daniel of Nashville, IL; two grandchildren, Brooke Baum (Jeff), Rebecca DuBois (Ryan); five great-grandchildren, Terry, Jr. and Tailer Pelczynski and Brendan and Breckin Baum and Janssen DuBois; sister, Rose Ann Hunter of Nashville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Michael Janssen; granddaughter, Traci Pelczynski and sister, Marie Schafer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville, IL on Friday, February 28, 2020 at 10 AM with Fr. Andy Knopik officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 110.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL on Friday from 8 AM until 9:30 AM.
Should friends desire, mass offerings or memorials may be made to the Washington County Hospital Extended Care or St. Ann School and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
